I use a good modified white colored thinset. I trowel spread the thinset on the back of the tile so it completely covers the backside. Put the tile up against the ceiling and while setting it in place rock it back and forth about 1/2" a few times so it forms a suction behind the tile. Try one or two and place a big towel on the floor under the tile in case they do let go. If you wait 5 to 10 minutes and nothing falls you have the right amount of thinset under it and the tile will never come down. I have done this with 12" marble tile and 12x20" ceramic on the ceiling. |
