toilet needs flushing a few times

01/30/2007 01:35 PM CASSIE7

jan 30, 2007 hi! we have a toilet that needs flushing 2 0r 3 times for the water to go down. te tried draino, plunging and auguring. we even took the toilet off to make sure there were no clogs. what could be causing this. the soil pipe runs from the bathroom down alongside the kitchen wall could there be a clog down in the lower pipes we can't get to? the toilet itself is in good shape, we hate to buy another toilet if there could be another serious problem thank you cbritt5083@netzero.net

Toilet

When you had the toilet off did you turn it upside down and check the trapway.

Some thing like a toothbrush or small toy can get caught in there. Augers will just go by it.

But it will slow the flush of solids down enough to cause problems.

Did you ever figer out the problem? How are yor vent pipes? If you dump a 2 1/2 gallon bucket of water in the bowl does it flush? When you reinstalled the toilet did you use a new wax ring?
