i have my vacation home in the island i have frequent appliances burnout like my jacuzzie pum just burt up in the island they use 220 volts 50Htz a friend was saying i need to get a transformer or inducer, something that would stabalize the current at 240v 60Htz most of my appliances are imported US Standard would that make a difference, i pull new #3 wire for 100amp, neutral, ground and everything but still having issue do u reccoment a transformer r induce for the whole house

If it's a jacuzzi pump motor, you can easily just buy a 240V model if you wish. Baldor and others make them. I believe motors to run water pumps with that pressure are 240V by nature.

The transformer would be to convert 120V to 240V or vice-versa, but would not change the frequency.

Regarding the frequency, I don't think that running the pump at 50Hz would do much except slow it down, since almost all large A/C motors are just two-field straight wires with an armature. Going from 60Hz to 50Hz would mean that the motor would run about 17% slower at each setting (low, med, etc.).

That might cause a problem if you need that speed to create the pressure, but that's not that much of a drop. However, just to be sure, I'd write a letter or email to a jacuzzi motor company and ask them. They'd be the experts.

thanks apreciate it but 17% sound like alot what can i do to bump it up to the 60Mhz one of my main concern also is that i don't think i get the full 220V because i have a UPS battery backup i have to set it at 105volts or else it would beep low voltage even with that sometime it beep & chip out i'm assuming the current drop below 105 what can i use for the whole house to stabalize the voltage comming into the entire house i'm pulling 100amp main
