v pattern deck boards

05/15/2009 04:26 PM whit.millwork

i am building a deck with 2 levels. upper deck is 12 X 16, stepping down to lower deck 10 X 12. I want to run deck boards on v pattern starting at center. I do not want my miters opening up with shrinkage. (using treated lumber)I am willing to bisquit, glue and screw miters together so they stay pretty. Is that going to cause me problems somewhere else by not letting those my miters move. I am not a professional deck builder, (trim carpenter and millwork specialist by trade)but I want it to look like I am. haha
