I want to put vinyl fascia over the old alum fascia. do I need to punch nail holes into the vinyl before I nail it? I plan on using trim nails to hold it up will the tempature changes cause a problem? I live near pittsburgh pa. this is a mobile home I already posted under mobile homes. but thought I might get some good info here.

Aluminum fascia is much more durable than vinyl fascia.

Personally, I'd remove and replace the old aluminum with new aluminum.

the trouble is the the old aluminum pitts and my wife wants to paint it every other year. I thought that using the vinyl would fix this problem
