want to install new (not replacement) dishwasher

07/12/2003 09:29 AM xiola

we rent an apartment that doesn't have a dishwasher. but we do have an unused washer/dryer hook-up.

we'd like to use that hookup for an under-the-counter dishwasher (because they're cheaper than portables and we don't have room in the kitchen to be rolling a portable to/from the sink).

we figure we can build a cabinet for it, so we can use the top for counter space.

other than that, we're not quite sure if it'll be possible.

i know that the hot water connection for a clothes washer is 3/4" and a dishwasher is 3/8" inch, so that would need some kind of convertor. and that we'll need a "p-trap" for the drain (whatever that may be).

any other info would be greatly appreciated.

especially about drain connections - where, exactly, they are on the back of the washer, if they're pipes or hoses or ....

thanks in advance.
