weep holes are leaking into the walls |

We hired a company (Majic Windows) to replace our old windows 3 years ago. We recently tore off the old siding and decided to hire a contractor to reside instead of us .He came to give us an estimate and pointed out to us ,that the windows were placed so deeply that the weep holes were (are)leaking into the walls. We can not get any one from MAJIC WINDOWS to help us. They said we could just calk the weep holes.I would appreciate any advice that any one has . |

Majic Windows-Deceitful/Dishonest/Rude |

Folks if you live in the Detroit area, and want replacement windows DO NOT CALL MAJIC WINDOWS-REPEAT DO NOT CALL MAJIC. We had windows installed-Screens too short on ALL windows as well as other items- too many to list here-going on 8 wks. Girls in office are very rude, managers are rude. We paid $10,000.00. Dogs get better treated. We emailed Mort Crim, we contacted BBS, we are in the process with the Mich Attorney General, and with a attorney. Fellow Detroiters please save yourself headaches, we are going through alot with this company, and just cant seem to get answers.
Please if any one out there was suckered in contact me and we all may have legal ground to stand on if we all stand together and stand up for what is right. Thank You. |

We also are having lots of problems with our newly installed windows. I agree with too many problems to list. We have been put in contact with Majic's repair company who came out to assess the problems and says it will be at least 4 weeks for repairs to begin. Majic would not send out one of their supervisors per our request. We keep getting the run around. In the meantime I am missing several screens and can't even open the windows that will open. And the repair company only works until 5pm so we are expected to take more time off of work to have Majic's problems fixed.
I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress. I feel like we are getting no-where and if something doesn't get resolved soon I will be calling the Fox 2 problem solvers! That might not be a bad idea.
I wish I would have known about these issues before we purchased their windows. |

I'm glad I read these revues about poor installation quality of majic windows. My wife saw their ad on TV and thought their fiber glass windows looked more durable than vinyl windows. After seeing this, I don't think I'd even consider them. I may call wallside and get an estimate from them. Does anyone have experience with Wallside? |

We thought like your wife did that the fiberglass windows are much more durable but the headache that comes with dealing with the company is just not worth it. We purchased Weatherguard windows for our previous home. They were very comparable to Wallside Window prices and we had no problems with them. My family members have Wallside and seem to be pleased also. Its a good thing you've researched Majic before making a deal with them! Good Luck. |

I would not recommend caulking the weep holes. The weep holes serve a very important purpose, and are necessary to a properly functioning window. The weep holes are there to direct the water that gets into the tracks to the exterior. Without the weep holes (or if you caulk them), the windows will overflow into the house when it rains, making your problems worse. The correct fix is to re-install the windows correctly. Short cuts are not the answer. |

In 2002 we purchased a bathtub liner and window kit and enclosure walls since then we have had five liners put in and they still dont work. Keep getting water between the liner and bathtub they came out today to replace liner once again and walls and the liner they brought was the wrong size again and the installer was gonna install it I have a complaint on bbb and attorney general once again and now getting the state licensing board involved when my husband called and talked to allen brooks he hung up on my husband we are seeking a refund and dont encourage anyone to do business with them according to the bbb they have 92 complaints in the last 36 months and thatsjust the people who complained imagine the people that just give up because of the run around I have a lifetime gaurantee that means I want what I paid for and Im not stopping until I get it or a full refund Please stay away from Majic window or majic bath once you pay poof they are gone |

I have bought from Wallside windows in my past two houses and was very impressed with their company and I loved my windows. Now I'm in my third home and looking for replacement windows and reading these posts I am going to buy again from Wallside. PS Wallside has never lowered their price because we said it was too high. They give a price to the wife or husband without the hard sell and never changed it. I guess they don't have too. |

Hi:
Yesterday evening we met with a rep from Majic Windows / Bath Liner Company. The guy was very charming and knowledgeable. He brought the cost down almost by 65%. As I do not like making decision under pushy conditions, I held off. Looks like I did the right thing.
BY THE WAY, WE NEED TO GET A TUB LINER AND STANIN-IN SHOWER WITH WALLS REPLACED WITH LINERS. CAN ANY OF YOU RECOMMEND ANY GOOD COMPANIES THAT YOU HAVE USED FOR YOUR HOUSE IN THE PAST?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IN ADVANCE. |
