i live in floriday i'm turning my house into a nursing home i fail the ac inspection i hire a ac tec who did most of the work up to code but we have 1 slite difference, both the inside and outside unit is connected to the main disconnect panel outside on the house that main disconnect panel does not come with a face shield so when u open the cover u can see all the main lugs and wire he said i have to cut a metal to create a face so when the inspector open the pane all he see is the breaker switch, that panel have being there of about 30 years without one is it that important

Ask the inspector if it is what he wants. He's the only one to decide.
