since you entered part numbers for what you need, I suppose that you have the owners manual and parts list. the manual or parts list should tell you what the tailstock fitting is for the cup center id, ie morse taper 1 or moris taper 2 sometimes abrivated mt1 or mt2. mt1 and mt2 or the most often used tapers for the older craftsman lathes. both mt1 and mt2 cup centers are listed in the ***** catalogue, and can also be purchased in most larger $ears stores tool departments.

These must be an easily misplaced parts. I am also in need of the cup center, cup center ball and cup center point. If anyone has a source, info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you....JGH |

I have one of these, and I doubt the people who keep talking about an MT1 center know what they are talking about here. From what I can tell, this is some kind of primitive live center with a metal point that sits on a small metal cup rotating aginst a small steel ball, press fited into the hollow drilled in a 1/2" threaded end of a 5/8" spindle. Can a 5/8" spindle be aquired for this unit that might have an MT1 socket milled into it so we could use standard MT1 accessories? It looks like a badly designed system it me. What holds the point in the spindle when you release the work piece?
