Loft Conversion

Boston's Big Dig Tour
Behind the Scenes - Loft Conversion

1) Boston's new transportation hub will sit 140 feet above the new interstate.

  2) Massive struts support the walls during construction of the 4 lane multi level roadway.

  3) 140 feet down workers finish the lower level of the ventilation system. The fans for the vents are seven blocks away.

4) It has been calculated that more earth will be moved during this project than during the construction of the pyramids!

  5) The scale of this job is enormous. It will reunite a city previously divided by an above ground out-dated road way.

  6) A beautiful park will cover the trains, cars, and buses of Boston's new multi-mode, under ground transportation system.
