Window Installation
Behind the Scenes - Loft Conversion

1) The window is rated for use on a high-rise building. Removing the glass frames makes installation much easier.

2) Keep these in a safe place during installation! These thermal panes cost around $200.00 each.

3) The drip edge is cut to match the beautiful arched brick work on the exterior.

4) Fasten the harness, organize the tools, and it's time to test your fear of heights.

5) Removal of the temporary closure must be done with extreme care.

6) With a little help from the inside, all goes well. Now for the window frame...

7) The crew used a thick adhesive strip to "glue" the bottom of the window frame to the granite sill.

8) It is self adhesive and the weight of the window will seal out the elements.

9) Using masonry screws the frame can be fastened through the pre-drilled anchor holes.

10) A thick bead of heavy duty caulking on the exterior will seal up the rest of the exposed areas.

11) Once the frame is in place the window panels can be reinstalled.

12) These energy efficient thermal pane windows are a beautiful addition to the loft project!
