Pergo Wood Flooring
Behind the Scenes - Loft Conversion

Pergo Original and newly introduced Pergo Select consist of planks measuring approximately 47 inches long and 8 inches wide. The planks are glued together to form a "floating floor," which can be laid directly over almost any subfloor.

Each Pergo plank has three main components, which are bonded together to create a very tough flooring product. The wear-resistant surface, featuring Perstorp Flooring's new and exclusive LusterGard protection, is bonded to a specially developed, moisture resistant, wood-based core. A final balancing backing of "power paper" laminated with a polymer material is bonded to the underside of the core to help the floor adapt to temperature and humidity changes that are normal in the home. This unique construction allows Pergo to resist moisture, stains, burns, and impacts and indentations from high heels, furniture and appliances.

Pergo Original is backed by a 15-year Wall-To-Wall Warranty, ensuring that the floor's decorative laminate surface will not wear-through, fade in color due to sun or electrical lights, or stain, and that the floor will resist water damage under normal use conditions. Pergo Select is backed by the same Wall-To-Wall Warranty for 20 years.

Furthermore, Pergo actually repels dust, feels comfortable underfoot and has an extremely low emission of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which makes it the perfect choice for consumers concerned about allergies and a healthier home environment.

Pergo laminate flooring is easily installed by a "do-it-yourselfer" or a professional. Because Pergo is a floating floor, it can be laid directly over almost any floor or sub-floor as long as it is dry, level and smooth. DockLock's new tongue and groove technology for 1999 provides steering guides, helping guide the planks during installation, resulting in easier installation and a floor with a tighter, more exact fit.

Vacuuming and an occasional wipe with a damp mop are all the regular care a Pergo floor needs. Tough stains such as nail polish, ink, fruit juice and even tar are easily removed with Pergo Spray Cleaner, acetone (nail polish remover) or denatured alcohol.
