Mantelpiece Restoration (HA1022)


Restoring the historic features of the mansion is a major part of this renovation. Sam Daniel talks to Bob about the process of preserving certain aspects of the mansion, specifically one of the mantelpieces. In Fredericksburg, Ryley visits Tidewater Preservation, the shop where the actual restoration is being done. Gregory Cowan shows us the delicate techniques involved in this kind of project. In Williamsburg, Bob learns more about the tools and carpentry techniques of the time.
