Restoring the Front Porch (HA1120)

Continuing his tour of the Elmwood neighborhood, Bob joins homeowners Berry-Jean Murray and Celeste Duclos as they begin restoration of their front porch. Ryley and Terry Bates have demolition underway and remove the old columns. Next, the new decking is laid down, and the new columns and railings are installed. New lighting is going in on the deck, as well as a new alarm. In addition, landscaping work is being done, including a new sprinkler system.

Additional information is available regarding creating custom millwork for your own restoration project and preventing carpenter ants and controlling termite infestation.
