Elmwood Neighborhood Project

Front Porch Restoration (HA1123)

The next project in the Elmwood series is a front porch restoration by homeowners Paul Stark and Amelia Henderson, who are replacing the rotting columns and plan to turn the space into an outdoor entertainment area. Bob talks to architect Alan Berry about his plans for the porch, and Terry Bates gets demolition underway. Ryley is back on site again to help with the ceiling joists, and talk about the new columns that have gone up. Paul is hard at work giving the front facade a new paint job, and Randy Withers from Withers Custom Shutters talks to Bob about the new shutters that have been hung. Landscape work is underway, including a cobblestone edgeway and new sprinkler. Finally Bob tours the finished porch with the homeowners, which features new Pier 1 furniture and a outdoor sound system from Sonance.

Additional information is available regarding hydroseeding your lawn and creating custom millwork for your own restoration project.
