Waterfront Warehouse Rehab Project

Interior Demolition, Framing wtih Metal Studs, and Water Taxi Tour (HA1403)

Interior work and demolition are progressing simultaneously in the warehouse rehab project. Bob and Chris Vila review three weeks worth of progress at the location. Work performed to date includes the removal of an old elevator shaft, and glass bead blasting the remaining wood and brick exposed surfaces. The bead blasting made short work of removing a century's worth of grime from the building's interior. A new Georgia-Pacific tongue-and-groove plywood subfloor is being laid down, and basic wall framing has started. Dino Koukoudakis and crew from Dino's Construction are framing interior walls using metal studs, which are simple, sturdy, and moisture proof. Also, Bob takes us on a Water Taxi tour to learn more about the history of heavy industry along Brooklyn's waterfront.
