Waterfront Warehouse Rehab Project

Rooftop Work and Wood Floor Installation (HA1407) Bob and Chris Vila meet with an eclectic cast of contractors on this week’s episode of the Brooklyn Waterfront Rehab project. On the roof, Bob and Chris Vila discuss the cooling units with HVAC contractor Isaac Chazbani. Welder Jimmy Canka is installing an iron safety railing. Contractor Alan Chi is installing glass windows and doors in the roof deck entryway, and John Sodano, the plumbing contractor, meets with Bob to discuss boiler placement. Sodano explains the rooftop boiler will also serve as a quick recovery domestic hot water heater. Inside, Bob then reviews the installation of the Bellawood hardwood flooring with Stephen Shelowitz from Williamsburg Parquet Flooring. Shelowitz explains the finer points of Bellawood’s flooring, explaining how the factory-applied finish is tested, and how his crew installs the flooring.
