Modular Mountain Retreat Project

Interior and Exterior Finishes on a Modular Home (HA1417)

Work continues at the Simplex Industries plant in Scranton, PA. The interior finishes are being installed, and the modules will soon be ready for transport to the Berkshires home site. Prefinished hardwood floors from Bellawood are being installed throughout the house. In the kitchen, cabinets and countertops are being installed. The countertops, a product called Zodiac from DuPont, are made from a composite of natural quartz and polymers. Dave Miller is on location to discuss their installation. Bill Dongas from Pella windows is at the factory to discuss the installation of the company’s Architect series windows in one of the modules. The application of the exterior siding is also underway. The siding, made from engineered wood, should provide a strong defense against the elements.
