Split-Level Ranch - Plymouth, MA

Home Again

Season 2 -

Split-Level Ranch

Plymouth, MA

Kicking off the season in America's home town, Plymouth, Massachusetts, Bob takes a historical tour of the first home of the Pilgrims, in search of a new project. After being tempted by a dilapidated Victorian house, he settles on a more practical alternative: a worn, seventeen year old raised ranch with problems familiar to many homeowners.

Changing the look of the house takes first priority, as the facade is resided and repainted, windows replaced, and a new entry built. In the process the bathroom is completely remodeled, and the kitchen is freshened up with a space-enhancing box bay window, custom-built Colonial-style cabinet doors and resurfaced countertops. With additional living space carved out in the basement and some major redecorating throughout, the old ranch get whole new feel. The yard is relandscaped to screen it from the busy street, and the rotting back yard deck is replaced improving the exterior to match the bright new interior.
