NEW YORK, NEW YORK! Bob Vila’s Home Again heads to Brooklyn, New York’s DUMBO neighborhood for the show’s next project. There's a lot of work to be done on this abandoned mid-19th century four-story brick front building "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass." This is a Brooklyn riverfront neighborhood of warehouses and factory buildings that's re-emerging as a vital new community of urban lofts and studios. Our little building, a mere twenty feet wide, last saw duty as a small pepper factory, but it's been empty and unused since the mid 1950's. Our adaptive reuse will yield three ultra-hip new apartments and commercial space at street level.

Projects on tap for the first part of our Season 14 programming include the restoration of the building’s brick façade, the installation of a rooftop skylight, new mechanical systems, the installation of new, energy-efficient windows, new subfloors and hardwood flooring, and many more helpful ideas that can be applied to any remodeling project.

Additionally, a new face joins Bob for the Brooklyn Warehouse Rehab project. Real estate professional Chris Vila, Bob’s oldest son, has joined the Home Again team. Chris, who will be acting as the Project Manager for the Brooklyn development, will be on hand for many of the project’s major tasks, and will help guide the complete rehabilitation of an abandoned building in the city that never sleeps.
