Modern Colonial Project

Modified Hip Roof Construction Video

Ryley and Bob look at the Colonial's rear façade and then head inside to watch as the crew frames out the modified hip roof on the sunroom. With its flat top it will look like a tray ceiling from inside. The roof is framed with three working joists that hold serve to hold the walls together and three 2 by 12s for the ridge. Ryley explains how the hips are formed and then observes as the crew finishes up the job laying in the rest of the common rafters.
