how to repaint over a formica dresser
i currently own a old grey formice bedroom set i wanted to know if i could repaint it and what paint to use? Scuff sand the formica surface with 120-180 grit sand paper. Next, I would recommend using a bonding primer over the Formica surface (proper adhesion is the key to successfully top-coating Formica). Suggest using the XIM - 400 White. For additional questions or Where-To-Buy information on XIM Products, please contact XIM at 1-800-262-8469 on on-line at www.ximbonder.com Once the Formica is primed, you may use any of the Bob Vila Interior Paints as a top-coat. The Semi-Gloss Enamel Wall And Trim paint would be the most durable, of the three finishes (flat, satin, & Semi-gloss) available.
