A band saw comprises a continuous flexible blade, or band, held taut around two or three wheels driven by a direct drive or belt-driven motor. The teeth and the motion of the blade are both downward, helping to reduce the chance of a kickback. The downward stroke also tends to help hold the workpiece in place against the table. |
