Used for crosscuts and rip cuts, the circular saw's base plate can be adjusted to make bevel cuts. Typically, the circular saw is subjected to rougher treatment than most other portable power tools. Therefore, a frequently used circular saw requires heavy duty features such as beefed-up horsepower, carbide-tipped blades, ball and roller bearings and rugged gears.

To move in a circle, circuit, or course and then return to the point of origin.
Circulating fluidized bed
A type of furnace or reactor in which the emission of sulfur compounds is lowered by the addition of crushed limestone in the fluidized bed thus obviating the need for much of the expensive stack gas clean-up equipment. The particles are collected and recirculated, after passing through a conventional bed, and cooled by boiler internals.

To trace a line around, encircle, or encompass an object.
Cistern
Rainwater storage tank, sometimes underground. Also a rarely used term for the water closet in old fashioned bathrooms.
