Coated base sheet
An asphalt-saturated base sheet membrane later coated with harder, more viscous asphalt, thereby increasing its impermeability to moisture.

Coated felt
An asphalt-saturated ply sheet that has also been coated on both sides with harder, more viscous asphalt.

Coating
A layer of material that is spray, roller, or brush applied over a surface for protection or sometimes decoration.

Coating density
Coating density indicates the relative closeness of the abrasive particles on sander backings. Closed-coat density indicates that the particles cover 100 percent of the surface of the sander backing while open-coat density covers between 50 to 70 percent. As a rule of thumb, closed-coat products tend to clog quickly on soft material and should be used for fine sanding or where a fine finish is required. Open-coat products do not clog as easily, making them the backing of choice for sanding softer materials and for rough sanding.

Coating in
Painting a consistent coat onto a surface.

Coaxial
The installation of two or more objects so that their axes are the same. Cable in which a solid or stranded central conductor is surrounded by an insulating medium, which in turn is surrounded by a solid or braided outside conductor in the form of a cylindrical shell and is used for telephones, telegraphs, televisions, etc. Having a common axis.

Cobalt
A hard, lustrous, steel-gray, ductile metallic chemical element found in various ores. Metallic element: atomic number 27, atomic weight 58.933; atomic symbol Co.

Cobalt drill bit
Cobalt drill bits are designed specifically for drilling stainless steel and other hard, abrasive materials.

Cobalt steel
Cobalt steel is an extremely hard, heat-resistant steel which is more durable than high speed steel (hss).

Cobble
To pave with cobblestones.
