Cord storage
The cord storage feature, found on several stationary and bench top tools, makes it easy to store a power cord properly in order to reduce the possibility of damage.
Cordage
Cords and ropes of a ship's rigging.
Cordless drill
A cordless drill is a drill powered by a battery which allows the user to do work in areas where power is unavailable or its use may be hazardous. Most cordless drills have a variable speed trigger switch and accept the same bits and accessories as a corded drill. Cordless drills offer portable convenience over corded drills and are ideal for most household work, but may not have the higher power needed for large holes or heavy metal drilling.
Cordless screwdriver
A cordless screwdriver is a compact, lightweight, in-line (straight) tool of low power and speed used for light-duty screwdriving. It is ideal where work involves large amounts of screws or nuts or in situations where power is not available or its use could be hazardous. Cordless screwdrivers have forward and reverse switches and a high torque to drive and remove a variety of screws and nuts.
Cordless tools
Cordless tools run on a rechargeable battery pack that, depending on the model, takes between one and three hours to charge. With no cords to tie them down, these tools can be used in areas far from a power source and in places where a cord could hinder usage or cause a potential electrical hazard.
Core
(1) The central or innermost part of something. (2) Cylindrical section sample of the earth's strata obtained by drilling. (3) Board to which an outer layer of veneer is attached. (4) A mass of iron which is placed inside a wire coil to channel and increase the strength of the magnetic field resulting from current in the coil. (5) Gypsum, between the facing and backing papers, in a wallboard panel.
Core drill
A hollow drill that can be used to remove sections of material.
Core stock
The middle section of a built-up panel of wood.
