Installed capacity

Instant start
A type of fluorescent lamp-ballast circuit designed to start fluorescent lamps as soon as the power is applied. Originally, instant-start circuits were developed to eleiminate separate mechanical starter devices. Slimline fluorescent lamps operate only on instant start circuits.

Instant start fluorescent light
Fluorescent light with a transformer applying a high voltage between the electrodes, making an arc between them to start the light. To keep available for an instant star, the filament is kept heated. With cathode fluorescent lights, the filament has to heat before fluorescence begins.

Instantaneous water heater
A type of water heater that heats water as it flows through a heat exchanger coil.
