Manufactured wood
A wood product such as a truss, beam, glue lam tm or joist which is manufactured out of smaller wood pieces and glued or mechanically fastened to form a larger piece. Often used to create a stronger member which may use less wood.
Manufacturers specifications
The written installation and/or maintenance instructions which are developed by the manufacturer of a product and which may have to be followed in order to maintain the product warrantee.
Manufacturing defects
Includes all defects or blemishes that are produced in manufacturing, such as chipped grain, tom grain, skips in dressing, hit and miss (a series of surfaced areas with skips between them), variation in machining, machine burn, mismatching.
Manufacturing milling machine
Milling machine consisting of an adjustable (both height and width) table and a spindle head, which is height adjustable. This semiautomatic machine keeps the work being milled in place while the movement is done by the cutting tools. The machine is used for repetitive mill work.
