| Orbital motion
|
 |
Orbital motion refers to the addition of circular motion to the sabre saw blade. Orbital motion allows for faster cuts than a straight reciprocating motion. Orbital motion also helps remove debris from the blade's path. Four-position sabre saw models adjust to small and medium orbits for light metals, hardwoods and plastics; larger orbits make fast cuts through wood and plasterboard. |
| Orbital sander

 |
The tight circular motion of orbital sanders is best applied to finish sanding and limited paint removal. |
| Orbital weld

A circumferential, full fusion weld used to join together two lengths of tubing. It is a GTAW welding process. Usually to join coiled lengths. |
| Orbits per minute (opm)

Orbital motion sanders are rated in orbits per minute (opm), or the number of times the pad completes a full circle in a minute. |
