| Partition terminal

Metal edging which serves as an expansion joint at the top of a plaster partition which does not connect to any other part of the construction. |

Wall which subdivides space but does not provide structural support. |
| Partnership
|
 |
An agreement between two or more entities to go into business or invest. Either partner may bind the other, within the scope of the partnership. Each partner is liable for all the partnership's debts. A partnership normally pays no taxes, but merely files an information return. The individual partners pay personal income tax on their share of income. |
| Parts per million (ppm)

A unit, which may be mass/mass, and hence represents a direct measure of fractional mass, or volume/volume, and represents in this case, a molar fraction at low pressures and high temperatures, commonly used to represent the degree of pollutant concentration where the concentrations are small. |
| Party wall

Boundary wall between two properties, built along the line separating the properties, partly on each parcel. Either owner has the right to use the wall and has an easement over that part of the adjoining owner's land covered by the wall. |

| Pass
|
 |
(1) Single layer of a many layered application, such as in welding, painting stucco, etc. where drying time is needed between application. (2) An opening through a barrier. |
| Pass line
|
 |
The distinct line formed between two passes of SPF. This line is the top skin of the bottom pass of the SPF. |
| Pass-through
|
 |
Opening in the wall between the kitchen and dining area that is used to pass dishes. |
| Pass-through certificates or securities
|
 |
Securities supported by a pool of mortgages. The principal and interest are due monthly on the mortgages and are passed through to the investors who bought the pool. |
