According to National Family Opinion research, the majority of homeowners use room side window treatments and don't like it when the crank on a casement or awning window interferes with blinds or shades. Casement and awning windows featuring a low-profile integrated crank, such as these, allow shades and blinds to be raised and lowered without any interference from the handle.

The stainless-steel operating hardware system on these windows offers improved quality, providing stronger, more durable hinges and hardware, enabling the window to open in a smooth manner. This smooth operation is a result of the tightening of the gears, which provides a more robust operating system. Another related benefit is a significantly reduced amount of "free play" of the sash when it is in the open position.

These particular windows are part of the Architect Series family, featuring ogee-shaped muntin bars permanently bonded to the inside and outside of energy-efficient insulating glass, with a non-glare spacer between panes of glass. Muntins are solid wood on the interior and wood or aluminum-clad on the exterior.
