In order to level off the Executive Mansion's basement floor, an elaborate concrete pump system was engaged to do the job. Phil Truitt of Carefil, Inc. explains to Bob the functions and advantages of his Reich Concrete Pump RCP truck.

Not having the ability to just back up to the basement and pour the necessary concrete, the Concrete System has a boom on the pump truck that extends 28 meters, about a 100 feet. Attached to the boom is a steel and rubber hose system extending the system an additional 120 feet into the basement.

The concrete can then be pumped at 950 psi, which would pump 120 yards of concrete per hour, though for this delicate job, the pump is on low speed. The basement will need about 60 yards.

The Reich truck is manufactured in Germany and assembled here in the United States and costs around $330,000.
