Replace the threshold of an exterior door when it shows signs of rot or deterioration. Rotten wooden casings and the riser may need to be replaced as well.
Step 18: Caulk the side of the casings Use caulk to the fill the cracks between the outside of the casings and the house. This will prevent moisture infiltration. Fill the cracks with caulk.
