Carpet tiles, also known as carpet squares or modular carpeting, are easily installed side-by-side to create a smooth, carpeted floor that looks just like wall-to-wall carpeting.
Step 2: Clean the floor beneath the carpet. If the wood floor under the carpet has ever been waxed, use a wax-stripping cleaner and a sponge to remove the wax. Vacuum the entire surface and wash with a mop. Be sure to let the floor dry completely before moving to the next step. The floor should be smooth, clean and wax-free. Wash the surface with a wax-stripping cleaner.
