During construction or renovation is the perfect time to make one of the most important home improvements you can make — to your water! Good, clean, soft water protects your plumbing and water-using appliances. It also allows you to use less soap and detergent to get even better cleaning results. And it prevents scale and subsequent damage to plumbing fixtures. The best way to soften water is to remove the dissolved calcium and magnesium with a home water softener. Home water softeners use a process called ion exchange to remove the dissolved minerals.

The Kinetico system has several advantages:
1. It's non-electric so there are no expensive electrical components to repair or replace. A third-party study conducted by Consumers Digest magazine in 1990 found that electrical components are the parts most prone to malfunction. And when they do, the repair is often expensive.

2. It's demand operated so it only softens the water when you use it, and cleans itself based upon your water usage only when its tanks have been used to capacity, not at some arbitrary preset interval like many conventional softeners. So regenerant (salt) use is minimized. It doesn't matter if you go away for the weekend or if you have company, the Kinetico water softener will adjust.

3. It has two softening tanks so it can clean one tank and switch to another tank to continue to provide soft water to the home (single tank units cannot clean themselves and continue to soften water at the same time).

4. It cleans itself with soft water. Since the Kinetico system has two softening tanks, it can clean one with soft water provided by the other tank. The result is a more effective, efficient cleaning and less regenerant (salt) use.

Since the water you put in your body should be better quality that the water you use to wash your clothes, clean your dishes and flush the toilet, the builder filtered the drinking water even further with a Kinetico Drinking Water System Plus. Using five separate stages including reverse osmosis, the Kinetico system provides better tasting, better quality water through a special kitchen tap. The result is cleaner, clearer ice, better tasting coffee and tea, and no more expensive, cumbersome bottled water! And because of its advanced features and ease of operation, the Kinetico system was rated a Consumers Digest Best Buy!

The Kinetico system boasts:
1. Quick-disconnect filter cartridges for easy maintenance

2. PureMometer™ Filter Life Indicator shows remaining filter capacity

3. MACguard Filter™ shuts off filters when they've reached capacity to prevent overuse—replacement is required to restore system flow

4. EverClean Rinse™ cleans the system's RO membrane with clean, RO water to prolong its life and improve the quality of the drinking water the system produces

5. Full seven-year system warranty and seven-year RO membrane warranty (unheard of in the industry) due to EverClean Rinse membrane protection

6. Dedicated lead-free faucet to prevent lead contamination of clean drinking water

The system also includes Kinetico's new QuickFlo™ storage tank that provides faster delivery to the faucet, faster water production from the system and less water waste.
