The latest innovation in laundry care, the Neptune Super Stack takes less than half the space of a conventional washer and dryer pair. Adhering to national code, Barry Driscoll, licensed electrician, prepared the washer and dryer for installation. The washer and dryer are one electrical unit so Barry used a heavy-duty power cord to handle the 240 volt 30 amp unit. These appliances are Energy Star compliant, using 30% less water and 60% less electricity. The washer has a larger load capacity and no central agitator. The cycles are timed, and the washer spins more effectively to get more water out of the clothes before going into the dryer. Before putting the Super Stack in place, Ryley connected the hot and cold water hookups and also the drain. In those tight spots, the Craftsman Robo Grips® came in handy.
Bob and Barry stacked the two units, made the factory male and female connections on the left and right sides of the unit. Bob, Ryley, and Barry pushed the Super Stack into place in the small closet, and Ryley would connect the ductwork later. Hard to believe, but you can wash 10 king size sheets at one time. The tub capacity is 20% larger than a conventional washer. On average the Maytag Neptune washer uses 22 gallons of water per cycle while a conventional washer typically uses 38 gallons per cycle. *Notice of Disclaimer: EPA and DOE are not affiliated with Bob Vila or Bob Vila's Home Again.
