Plumbing or electrical work can leave a hole in drywall. With a few simple techniques, you can repair the hole so it's invisible when finished.
Step 4: Insert wood supports for the drywall patch Cut lengths of wood to fit exactly between the studs in the wall. Wedge the pieces to fit between the studs half-exposed at the top and bottom of the opening. The patch will be screwed into the wood pieces to hold them firmly in place. Wedge a length of wood between the studs at the top and bottom of the hole to support the new drywall.
