Replace the threshold of an exterior door when it shows signs of rot or deterioration. Rotten wooden casings and the riser may need to be replaced as well.
Step 10: Measure the width of the threshold space
Using a tape measure, determine the width of the threshold space. At this time, take measurements for the new riser and casings if these are also going to be replaced.
