If a tropical storm or hurricane warning is issued, take the following precautions: Shutter or board up all windows; bring in all outdoor furniture and objects that might become wind-borne and endanger neighboring property; secure any sliding windows or doors with by bracing the tracks to prevent uplift; anchor any boats or mobile homes to reduce the possibility of movement during the storm; prepare for power outages by closing off unused rooms, conserving heat, and powering down computer systems.
