Tina Ongley from TXI joins Steve Easley to discuss the strong, lightweight concrete being used at the EnergyWise House. TXI Maximizer Concrete is a proprietary formula that provides more coverage per bag than standard mixes. Using a specially formulated aggregate, Maximizer stretches concrete's ability to cover, finish, and support your footings, slabs, decks, stairs, or posts. At a strength of 5,500 psi (pounds per square inch), Maximizer is stronger when cured than traditional concrete mixes, which average between 3,000 and 4,000 psi. When compared pound per pound, Maximizer also delivers 67 percent more coverage than traditional mixes.
