To make the home's second floor handicapped accessible, Bob and the crew installed a small elevator in an area originally designed as closet space.

The "Windsor" is a compact inexpensive, two stop, residential elevator. It doesn't require a headhouse on the roof or pit into the basement. As there is no machinery necessary, it can be put it in any existing installation just as it is.

The car is lowered by a winch system riding along a small trolley on the back along a track attached to studs behind the back wall. It is connected by two 1/4" aircraft cables.

In addition to the elevator's gold anodized gate, when the installation is complete, there will be an secondary exterior door to ensure no one could get underneath the car while the elevator is operating. Additionally there is a phone in the car in case of an emergency. It is the ideal solution for retrofitting into existing homes.

The "Windsor" conforms to the latest requirements as stated by the American National Standards institute and the Americans with Disabilities Act. At the end of the day everyone agreed that this compact, easy to operate elevator was an excellent addition to the project

The "Windsor" comes equipped with a simple easy to operate control panel.
