Planning for the Future When picking out window treatments, you need to think long term as you are probably going to have them for the long haul. Unless of course money is no object. But in that case you would not be installing these yourself and would not be on this site. Some factors to consider are color, slat depth, mounting type (interior or exterior) and type of blind. Since we have solid wood frames casing and molding painted white we decided to go with white wood blinds. Since we have the nice molding that we did not want to hide we chose an inside mount. And because the frame is not very deep we decided to use the one and three-eighths wood inch depth. |

Measuring Measure all four sides On the horizontal choose the shorter measurements the width can not change and you don't want to force it in and the blind needs enough room so that you can raise and lower it. On the vertical go with the longer distance as you will want the blind to sit on or be very close to the inside sill. But hopefully the verticals will be the same and so will the horizontals.
Measure twice and Write it down it may even help to sketch it out so you can easily translate those numbers to the online ordering tool. |

Marking where to drill Be sure not to be too close to sides as often there are plastic caps on the ends of the upper mounting that the brackets will not clip into. |
Predrill holes It insures you will not split the wood and makes in much easier to screw in. |
Mount the Bracket Make sure the pair of brackets are the same distance from the window and parallel to the frame before fully tightening. |

Clip it in set the back lip of the blind in place. apply a small amount of pressure towards the window. The turn the front of the blind up release pressure and the clips should lock into place. Be sure Both brackets have locked or the first time you try to raise the blinds they will fall out of the brackets. |
