Today through Friday I will be attending the U.S. Green Building Council's Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in Boston. This year's theme is "Revolutionary Green: Innovations for Global Sustainability." The three-day conference will give leaders and media interested in green building a chance to meet peers and industry experts and discover the latest products and technologies.

And my hopes are, too, that "green" will eventually not be a special category of building but rather a standard incorporated into all building practices.
Apart from the economic advantages of building green, there are a number of aspects (especially in the indoor air quality considerations) where building green connects directly to health, safety, and welfare issues. Building codes have always been based on these issues, so I hope that someday SOON many green building options become written into building codes.
