18th. -19th. century Chinese sword

Antique Chinese falchion sword with wide wood scabbard decorated with brass annular decoration plaques. The center 2 brass rings have openings for holding the sword. Wood covers the hilt that is curved and the pommel is made from brass. The blade is curved and widens toward the end. The hilt guard is made from brass and very wide measuring 4.5 inches x 3.5 inches. This is also called an executioner sword used for decapitation. Dimensions: length: 39 inches, scabbard width is 3inches. After the scabbard is removed, the sword measures 38 inches. The blade has oxydation and rust, but no pitting. This sword is quite rare!.
