1916 C Digel Springfield OH Nat'l Guard Mex Border Medal

In this listing we have 2 photos, patch and medal that belonged to the late Carl Digel, a Springfield, Ohio Judge. Included are 2 (one is a photo postcard) photos of Judge Digel in his National Guard Uniform, uniform patch and his 1916 Mexican Border Patrol Medal from his time in service defending our border against Pancho Villa. The photo postcard has not been postally used and it has a one inch tear at the top edge located right on a crease in the card. The photo has a few corner bends and creasing. The patch fabric is in fine condition and has no holes or tears. The medal is pretty neat. The front side is marked: Mexican Border Service 1916 and it features a scene of the Boarder Service with a sword crossed with a rifle. The back side is marked: RAID Columbus, N.M. Mch. 9th Glen Springs, Tex. May 6th San Ygnacio, Tex. June 14th National Guard Called To The Colors June 18th Ambush At Carrazil, Mex. June 21st. Then it is marked with the maker's stamp: H.H. Stratton CHATTANOOGA, TEN. The medal measures 1 3/4 inches X 1 1/2 inches.
