Rare Original Vintage Art Nouveau Life Magazine cover art done by artist B. Cory Kilvert for the Great White Way Number 1909. Stunning and fabulous view of the bewildering array of New York as seen form the viewpoint of a sweet and innocent country girl with straw hat and braids just arriving from the hinterlands almost a century ago. B. Cory Kilvert has done an exceptional job of capturing the essence of dramatic New York and specifically the dazzling neon-lit world of Broadway- complete with grey and soft blue evening tide tonality- illuminated buildings rushing motor cars with headlamps looking eerily towards the viewer, a trolley-car and the word Life done in clever imitations of the new Times Square signs of 1909. This cover is fantastic yet not without it's flaws- there is a tape mark at the top corner and somebody long ago saw fit to note Mrs. Eddy page 544 just above the actual image. It is my intention to offer beautiful original magazine art whenever possible. I have been collecting Life Magazine images for over twenty-five years and up to now had never seen this particular one. It is charming and beautiful in person and will be wonderful matted and framed.
