Han Dyn. Jade Dragon Carvings, ca.206BC-220AD

(Pair) Han Dynasty Jade Dragon Carvings, ca. 206BC-221AD;(both)4-3/4" tall, 3-7/8" wide,7/8" thick; 10-1/2 oz. and 9-3/4 oz.A rare pair of Chinese Han dynasty Jade Dragon carvings. Masterfully carved from white jade. Though originally white, the jade has turned more amber over the 1000s of years of being buried. This is called Qin. Qin is a diagnostic of great age. This pair of jade carvings depicts coiled dragons entwined in spiraling ling-chih. I do not know the exact purpose of these carvings, but they seem to be perfectly balanced while balancing from the tip of the dragons mouth, (while held vertically).Condition Consensus: Excellent condition. Museum quality. Without any damage and/or repair.B/10
