KERR Sterling Silver & Crystal Inkwell c. 1880

A fine and unusual late Victorian period sterling silver and crystal inkwell by the WM. B. Kerr Co. of Newark, New Jersey. The top is silver with an engraved scrolling Acanthus leaf design. There is a monogram in the center. The piece is marked with the Kerr mark, sterling and 3204. There is a creased dent and a few dings on the underside of the silver, but the top is in excellent condition. There is noticeable wear on the bottom of the crystal inkwell, but no chips or breaks. Overall, the piece is in very good condition. It measures 3 5/8" in diameter and 3" in height. The inkwell dates c. 1890.
