A fine Korean Old Silla (Pre-unification) Dynasty goblet. Dimensions are approx. 7" tall, bay 4-5/8" wide. The high-fired gray-black stoneware goblet is very sturdy yet relatively light for its size. The shape is very tactile. The goblet design has a slightly squashed, round base and without a foot rim. The waist is broad and gently flares to a broad mouth rim. The mouth rim is flanged and stepped in. This appears to be shaped for a lid or cover which has long been lost to the eons of time. The upper portion of the goblet has several raised bands and parallel incised wavy grooves. The overall condition consensus is very fine without any injury or repair. Click for Price @ GoAntiques.com
