This is a lamp that has been in my family since 60's. It is in pretty much the same shape as when I got. The globe from other examples I have seen is mercury glass and when it is lit up it has a beautiful gold textured design on the globe. The metal base is very heavy I think it is cast iron but the nudes are not iron, a grey metal of some kind. I will try to get a picture of the original tag if I can today. I think the nudes on the side of the globe once had a flesh colored paint on them. The silver globe itself when it isn't lit has some dark spots on the globe which I don't know the cause, but they are very small. The light as you can see has a wonderful golden glow. The top of the globe as you see in the picture is a little dark, I don't know why but has been this way since we bought the lamp and doesn't make the glow less enjoyable. The light works fine. There is a large gold foil sticker on the bottom of the lamp that may be unusual because they could easily be lost. It is on top of a felt cover of the bottom of the lamp Cord is original . This is a beautiful example of art deco and a must have for a collector. Also very rare, the only examples I can find are already sold and in worse condition than this one. I think I didn't even find one like this example, exactly just another one not as big as this one. The bottom of the light has felt on it and a sticker with the manufactures name, Greist on it. I only ship this kind of item professional packer as I am a buyer and not a professional packer but could consider other options in an email from the buyer.
